About Us

We at South Lakeshore Christian Church are a church with a history of being aligned with the Restoration movement which began on the American frontier in the early 1800s. Like other churches aligned with the Restoration movement, we seek to be guided solely by the Bible and strive to avoid man made rules and creeds. A proclamation that has echoed across Restoration churches historical corridors has been “Where the Bible speaks, we speak. Where the Bible is silent, we are silent”.

In addition to seeking to be obedient to what the Scriptures teach, we at SLCC strive to be relevant to our community. This is no easy task and we need all the help we can get.

If you don’t know the difference between religion and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, we invite you to stop by, have a cup of coffee and we will do our best to explain it to you. If you are a Christian seeking a church home where you are needed and will be put to work for His Kingdom, SLCC is the place for you.

What we Believe

  • We believe that there is one God eternally existent in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
  • We believe in the Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His humanity, His perfectly sinless life, His substitutionary death as atonement for our sins, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the Father, and His personal return to the earth for His saints.
  • We believe the Bible (66 books) to be the inspired and infallible Word of God, the only, complete and adequate revelation of His will for salvation and guide for our lives on earth.
  • We believe that all human beings are dead in sin and completely lost and that the only way their sins can be forgiven is through repentance and through faith in the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
  • We believe in the resurrection of the righteous to eternal life and the resurrection of the unrighteous to eternal damnation.
  • We believe in the Great Commission; to proclaim the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to the uttermost parts of the earth and to make disciples of all nations, teaching them to observe all the commands of our Lord Jesus Christ.
  • We believe in the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit, by which a person is born again to be a child of God.
  • We believe that justification is by faith in Christ alone, the evidence of this being good works that glorify God.
  • We believe in the necessity of being filled with the Holy Spirit continually in order to have power to be witnesses for Christ – by our daily lives and by word.
